Correlation between sperm parameters and circulating thyroid hormones and testosterone concentrations in Labrador Retriever dog

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2021
Thyroid hormones physiologically regulate the semen quality, by altering testosterone concentrations, and different seminal parameters, as well as sperm motility, viability and semen volume. Serum thyroxine (T4), free thyroxine (fT4), thyroid-stimulating

Comprehensive exploration of unexplained dyspnoea in subjects with normal ejection fraction and low natriuretic peptides

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 879-887, April 2025.
Abstract Background Unexplained exertional dyspnoea without significant elevation of natriuretic peptides is common. One of the causes might be early heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Aims This study aimed to characterize patients with exertional dyspnoea and normal/near‐to‐normal N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT ...

Development of a Zebrafish Embryo‐Based Test System for Thyroid Hormone System Disruption: 3Rs in Ecotoxicological Research

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology and Chemistry, EarlyView.
Abstract There is increasing concern regarding pollutants disrupting the vertebrate thyroid hormone (TH) system, which is crucial for development. Thus, identification of TH system–disrupting chemicals (THSDCs) is an important requirement in the Organisation for Economic Co‐operation and Development (OECD) testing framework.
