Clonal dynamics of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes
European Journal of Immunology, 2005The presence of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) provides important evidence of anti-tumor immunity in vivo. However, TIL are usually not sufficient for inhibiting tumor growth. We explored the spatial and temporal aspects of clonal accumulation of TIL using RT-PCR/single-strand conformation polymorphism analysis.

BackgroundTumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with various clinicopathological features. Using cytologic specimens for assessing TILs remains to be established. This retrospective study aimed to establish a practical method to assess TILs in cytologic samples.MethodsThe authors found 1101 breast fine‐needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB ...

Lymphocytes extracted from freshly resected melanomas can be expanded in vitro and can often mediate specific lysis of autologous tumor cells but not allogeneic tumor or autologous normal cells. We treated 20 patients with metastatic melanoma by means of

Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes
Acta Cytologica, 1996To characterize the cytologic, phenotypic and morphometric features of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs).Morphology and cell size parameters of 50 TILs and five normal donor peripheral blood lymphocyte (PBL) specimens were compared using light microscopy, manual ocular measurements and digital image processing.Cytologically, all TILs demonstrated ...

PURPOSE Previous preclinical and clinical data suggest that the immune system influences prognosis and response to chemotherapy (CT); however, clinical relevance has yet to be established in breast cancer (BC).

Reporting Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes
2012The presence of many tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in primary cutaneous melanoma is associated with a better prognosis. The degree of lymphocytic interaction with the tumor cells is graded as “brisk”, “non-brisk” or “absent” as defined below:

Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte Therapy and Neoantigens
The Cancer Journal, 2017The adoptive cell transfer (ACT) of autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes has been shown to be effective at mediating tumor regression in more than half of patients with metastatic melanoma and in mediating long-term complete regression in approximately one fourth of all patients with this cancer.

Importance The presence of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is a favorable prognostic factor in breast cancer, and TILs may synergize with chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy for improved clinical response.

Immunocompetence of Tissue Infiltrating Lymphocytes in Bladder Tumors
Journal of Urology, 1988Tissue infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) in bladder tumors have been assumed to be an expression of local host resistance against the tumor. We investigated the functional activity of TIL compared to peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL). Isolation of TIL was performed using the enzyme cocktail treatment with Ficoll-Hypaque discontinuous gradient ...
