TNFa is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is signaled through type 1 (TNFR1) and type 2 (TNFR2) receptors. TNFR1 normally mediates apoptosis, cell survival, and cytokine secretion, while TNFR2 selectively mediates cell survival and cytokine secretion. But

Requirement of endogenous tumor necrosis factor/cachectin for recovery from experimental peritonitis [PDF]
By intrasplenic immunization we raised a rat mAb (mAb V1q; IgG2a, kappa) with a potent neutralizing activity against natural mouse TNF (1 microgram/ml mAb V1q/100 U/ml TNF). mAb V1q was used to study the role of endogenous TNF in experimental peritonitis

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Expression and associations of TRAF1, BMI-1, ALDH1, and Lin28B in oral squamous cell carcinoma
Tumor necrosis factor receptor–associated factor 1, an adaptor protein of tumor necrosis factor 2, is involved in classical nuclear factor (NF)-κB activation and lymphocyte recruitment. However, less is known about the expression and association of tumor

Targeting the Blood–Brain Tumor Barrier with Tumor Necrosis Factor-α
The blood–brain tumor barrier represents a major obstacle for anticancer drug delivery to brain tumors. Thus, novel strategies aimed at targeting and breaching this structure are of great experimental and clinical interest.

Emergence of macroscopic simplicity from the Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha signaling dynamics [PDF]
The Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α), a cytokine produced during the innate immune response to invading pathogens, is involved in numerous fundamental cellular processes.

Integrated probability of coronary heart disease subject to the -308 tumor necrosis factor-alpha SNP: a Bayesian meta-analysis [PDF]
We present a meta-analysis of independent studies on the potential implication in the occurrence of coronary heart disease (CHD) of the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at the -308 position of the tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) gene.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha and Age-Related Pathologies
Modern concepts about the «inflammaging» and the role of subclinical inflammation in various age-associated pathology are described in the review. Particular attention is paid to the tumor necrosis factor-α, a key cytokine that plays an important role in

Adverse reactions of biological therapies in patients with psoriasis [PDF]
Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated disorder characterized by well demarcated, erythematous plaques covered by thick, silvery-white scales, most often located on the knees, elbows, sacral area and scalp.
