Testicular and testicular adnexa tumors in the elderly
Anti-Cancer Drugs, 2013Neoplasms in the testis and in the testicular adnexa of elderly patients are completely different from those observed in younger patients. Indeed, although conventional seminomas and nonseminomas are mainly observed in the age range of 20-45 years, spermatocytic seminoma, malignant Leydig tumors, and lymphomas in the testis and sarcomas in the ...

AbstractAlthough relatively rare, testicular neoplasms affect a significant number of young children each year. The most common tumor is embryonal carcinoma. With proper management, which includes orchiectomy and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, survival rates as high as 80% can be expected for children with stage A disease. The use of adjunctive

European Urology, 1989
A review of 3,474 consecutive autopsies on adult men showed that 337 men had died of cancer, and 2 of them presented with testicular metastases from a pancreatic carcinoma and a urinary bladder carcinoma, respectively. In addition, of 32 men with prostatic carcinoma whose testes were removed, 1 man presented with testicular metastases from the tumor ...

Sarcoidosis and testicular tumors
Urology, 1988A thirty-five-year-old white man presented with hilar adenopathy and elevated alpha-fetoprotein after retroperitoneal node dissection and chemotherapy for mixed embryonal seminomatous testicular tumor. A biopsy completed by mediastinoscopy demonstrated sarcoidosis.

Ultrasonography of Testicular Tumors
European Urology, 1990The ultrasonograms obtained from 20 cases with testicular tumors were reviewed to correlate the ultrasonographic findings with the histologic features. Some seminomas and all metastatic tumors (leukemia, malignant lymphoma and prostatic cancer) showed homogeneous and hypoechoic findings ultrasonographically.

Ultrasonography of Testicular Tumors
Urologia Internationalis, 2010From 1984 to 1989, 62 patients with palpable testicular tumor were examined with ultrasound before surgical exploration. The ultrasonographic morphology was compared with the histological diagnosis of the tumor. The radiologist’s interpretation regarding the type of tumor (seminoma versus nonseminomatous tumor) was correct in 70%.

MANAGEMENT OF TESTICULAR TUMORS
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1958The course of testicular tumors was studied in 59 patients treated by orchiectomy and x-ray. Of the 59 tumors, 22 were seminomas. Metastases to the para-aortic lymph nodes were found in 19 (32%) of 59 cases, including 7 (32%) of 22 in the seminoma group.

Treatment of Testicular Tumors
Radiology, 1978A total of 145 consecutive primary testicular tumors were treated with radiation therapy at the University of Michigan Hospital from 1955 through 1974. In patients with seminoma, the 5-year survival rate was 98% for Stage I and 88% for Stage II regardless of whether retroperitoneal lymph node dissection was done.

Testicular tumors arise from the germ cell line and therefore exhibit characteristics of both neoplastic and normal growth and differentiation. Experimental model systems of animal and human tumors have been reviewed with emphasis on the biologic characteristics of these tumors. The embryonal carcinoma cell is the totipotential stem cell that resembles
