Effect of lactic dehydrogenase virus infection on tumor induction and tumor growth.

Cancer research, 1981
The ubiquitous nononcogenic lactic dehydrogenase RNA virus (LDV) is one of the most common contaminants of transplantable tumors and oncogenic viral preparations. This association of LDV with a large variety of murine tumors and the known effect of LDV infection on immune competence may suggest the existence of a possible etiological relationship ...

Tumors Induced in Hamsters by Simian Virus 40: Persistent Subviral Infection

Science, 1963
The cells of two hamster ependymomas, originally induced by intracerebral inoculation with simian virus 40 in newborn animals, have been serially cultured in vitro. None of the virus was detected in cell-free culture fluids or cell lysates. All cells retained their neoplastic potential when newborn hamsters were inoculated.

Persistent infection of mouse tumor cells with mumps virus.

Biken journal, 1981
A mouse tumor cell line (MCT) persistently infected with mumps virus (strain Urabe) was obtained. No antibody or chemicals were required for establishment or maintenance of the infected cell line (M-MCT). No difference was observed by light microscopy between MCT and M-MCT cells, except for cytoplasmic inclusion bodies in 10--20% of the M-MCT cells ...

[Tumor necrosis factor-alpha in human immunodeficiency virus infection].

Medicina clinica, 1995
The aim of the present was to determine the levels of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha in patients with HIV infection to study the relationship with the concentration of triglycerides (TG), CD4 lymphocyte count and clinical diagnosis.Seventy-eight HIV-infected patients (58 males, 20 females); mean age 32 years presenting different clinical ...
