Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Master-modes in 3D turbulent channel flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Turbulent flow fields can be expanded into a series in a set of basic functions. The terms of such series are often called modes. A master- (or determining) mode set is a subset of these modes, the time history of which uniquely determines the time ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Hydrodynamics of the Cylinder Rotating in the Unbounded Viscous Medium

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2009
It is shown, that at first a laminar flow around rotating cylinder with growth of Reynolds number passes into a pseudo-laminar flow, and then into a steady turbulent flow.

On the applicability of Taylor's hypothesis in streaming magnetohydrodynamic turbulence

open access: yes, 2019
We examine the range of applicability of Taylor's hypothesis used in observations of magnetic turbulence in the solar wind. We do not refer to turbulence theory.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Measurements of the magnetic field induced by a turbulent flow of liquid metal

open access: yes, 2005
Initial results from the Madison Dynamo Experiment provide details of the inductive response of a turbulent flow of liquid sodium to an applied magnetic field. The magnetic field structure is reconstructed from both internal and external measurements.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Scalar Transport Characteristics Near the Turbulent/Non-Turbulent Interface in a Reactive Jet Flow

open access: yes气体物理
Turbulent/non-turbulent interface (T/NTI) layer separates the turbulent and non-turbulent regions. The study of T/NTI is helpful to deepen the understanding of mass transfer between turbulent and non-turbulent regions.

Mass and Momentum Turbulent Transport Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The downstream mixing of coaxial jets discharging in an expanded duct was studied to improve turbulent transport models which are used in computational procedures throughout the propulsion community for combustor flow modeling. Laser velocimeter (LV) and
