Coherent Reflective PON architecture: can it be made compatible with TWDM-PON

We discuss the compatibility between reflective PON architectures and the recently defined TWDM-PON for NG-PON2. Focusing on the upstream, we experimentally demonstrate that, by using burst-mode coherent detection at OLT, reflective PON can achieve the specification target set for TWDM-PON, without requiring precise wavelength accuracy at ONU.

Energy saving in TWDM(A) PONs: Challenges and opportunities

Multiple wavelength load balancing in TWDM-PON

We propose a load balancing algorithm to manage data transmission over multiple wavelengths in TWDM-PON. Each wavelength is controlled to be in the balanced load state or lightly-loaded state. Analysis and test demonstrate salient results.

Experimental Study of Type B Protection for TWDM-PON System
