IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Effect of Tween 20 on the Oxidative Stability of Sodium Linoleate and Sodium Docosahexaenoate
Sodium linoleate (LA) and sodium docosahexaenoate (DHA) were oxidized in an aqueous phase with or without Tween 20. The oxidative stability of LA with Tween 20 was slightly less than that of LA without Tween 20. In contrast, when DHA was dispersed in a buffer containing Tween 20, the stability of DHA was markedly increased, suggesting a specific effect

Repair of neuronal DNA damage in Alzheimer's disease by KCL‐286. (A) Amyloid‐β oligomers and plaques impair neuronal DNA repair pathways, leading to DNA double‐strand breaks and glial activation. (B) KCL‐286 activates RARβ/RXR signalling via retinoic acid response elements (RAREs), associated with increased BRCA1 expression, enhanced DNA repair and ...

Reversal effect of Tween-20 on multidrug resistance in tumor cells in vitro
Multidrug resistance (MDR) is a major barrier for chemotherapy of many cancers. Non-ionic surfactants have great potential to reverse the MDR by preventing onset or delay progression of the carcinogenic process. However, the role of Tween-20 in the development of MDR remains unknown.

The effect of Tween-20 additive on the morphology and performance of PVDF membranes
The effects of additive, Tween-20, on the morphology and ultra-filtration performance of the PVDF membranes formed by isothermal immersion precipitation from the Tween-20/water/TEP/PVDF system were investigated.

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

The nuclear tRNA and mRNA export defect caused by Tween-20 is reversible.
HeLa cells were left in serum-free media (panels A and B, Untreated) or treated with 150 µM Tween-20 for 4 h in serum-free DMEM. The cells were then kept in the presence of Tween-20 (second panel, Tween-20), or washed and placed in fresh serum-free DMEM ...
