Tween 20 removes antibodies and other proteins from nitrocellulose
Journal of Immunological Methods, 1986It has generally been assumed that the binding of most proteins to nitrocellulose is stable in the non-ionic detergent Tween 20. However, the following paper demonstrates that in immunoassays where antibodies or other proteins are bound directly to the nitrocellulose, 0.05% Tween 20 may dissociate these proteins from the membrane.

Stability of Emulsions Containing Both Sodium Caseinate and Tween 20
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1999The creaming and rheology of oil-in-water emulsions (30 vol% n-tetradecane, pH 6.8) stabilized by a mixture of commercial sodium caseinate and the non-ionic emulsifier polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate (Tween 20) has been investigated at 21 degrees C.

Tween 20 increases intestinal transport of doxorubicin in vitro but not in vivo
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2016The chemotherapeutic drug substance doxorubicin has been reported to be a substrate of P-gp, which induces a barrier for oral administration and leads to a bioavailability of 3% in male Sprague Dawley rats. Literature studies have reported increased transport of P-pg substrates, like digoxin, when co-administered with P-gp inhibitors (non-ionic ...

A Noncovalent Approach to the Construction of Tween 20‐Based Protein Microarrays
ChemBioChem, 2007On the loose. Nonbiofouling Tween 20 surface incorporated into loosely packed self-assembled monolayers. A platform technology for microarrays based on van der Waals interaction-driven adsorption of Tween 20 onto a sophisticatedly designed surface composed of loosely packed structures of long alkyl chains has been developed ...

Abstract Interfacial tension and rheological properties conferred on the adsorbed bovine milk β-casein and β-casein (f114–169) were investigated in the absence and in the presence of Tween 20, a low-molecular-weight nonionic surfactant. A dynamic drop tensiometer was used with a pendant drop of aqueous phase plunging into triolein.

INFLUENCE OF VARIOUS HERBICIDES AND TWEEN 20 ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GLYPHOSATE
Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1980Glyphosate (N-phosphonomethyl glycine) at 0.21 kg/ha applied at the 4-leaf stage provided excellent control of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), oats (Avena sativa L.), and rape (Brassica campestris L.). Tank mixtures of 0.21 kg/ha glyphosate with bromoxynil/MCPA, bromoxynil, MCPA, 2,4-D, or dicamba resulted in an initial ...

Curcumin Encapsulation in Submicrometer Spray-Dried Chitosan/Tween 20 Particles
Biomacromolecules, 2012Optimal curcumin delivery for medicinal applications requires a drug delivery system that both solubilizes curcumin and prevents degradation. To achieve this, curcumin has been encapsulated in submicrometer chitosan/Tween 20 particles via a benchtop spray-drying process.

Selective solubilization with tween 20 of membrane proteins from Acholeplasma laidlawii
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1972Abstract 1. 1. Approx. 70% of the plasma membrane from Acholeplasma laidlawii can be extracted with 2.5% Tween 20. The residue contained a higher proportion of hydrophobic amino acids than the extract. Glucosamine and galactosamine were found only in the extract.

Characterization of the Tween 20-soluble membrane proteins of Acholephasma laidlawii
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 1979Abstract Methods for the purification of the four major proteins and two of the minor proteins in the Tween 20-soluble extract of A. laidlawii membranes have previously been described. The last step in the purification procedure involved an electrophoresis in a detergent-free buffer, where the concentration of Tween could be reduced by up to 2000 ...
