Simulation of solidification microstructure in twin-roll casting strip
Computational Materials Science, 2010The twin-roll strip casting is regarded as the most prospective technology of near-net-shape casting. The control of the grain structure is of primary importance in twin-roll strip casting because the solidification microstructure has great influence on the quality and mechanical properties of strips.

A medium-Mn steel processed by novel twin-roll strip casting route
Materials Science and Technology, 2019A medium-Mn steel (Fe–0.3C–4Mn–1.82Al–0.6Si wt-%) was produced by a novel processing route involving twin-roll strip casting, hot rolling and intercritical annealing (IA). Macrosegregation was absent in the as-cast strip.

Dynamic Modeling of Twin-Roll Steel Strip Casting
We consider the problem of dynamic coupling between the rapid thermal solidification and mechanical compression of steel in twin-roll steel strip casting. In traditional steel casting, molten steel is first solidified into thick slabs and then compressed via a series of rollers to create thin sheets of steel.

The twin-roll strip casting (TRSC) process was introduced because of its sub-rapid solidification characteristics, and the element segregation and ageing precipitation of the Cu-6Ni-1.4Si-0.1Cr alloy were studied.

The twin-roll strip casting of magnesium
JOM, 2004Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organization has been working since 2000 to develop twin-roll strip casting of magnesium alloy. The primary objective was to significantly reduce the manufacturing cost of the magnesium sheet through the twin-roll casting process.

Twin roll casting of aluminum alloy strips
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2004Abstract Two kinds of twin roll caster for aluminum alloys were devised in the present study. Vertical type was adopted. The strip, which was thinner than 3 mm, could be cast at speeds higher than 60 m/min. Aluminum alloy, which freezing zone is very wide like A5182, could be cast using the twin roll caster of the present study at speeds up to 150 m ...
