Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

The two-dimensional cutting stock problem within the roller blind production process [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we consider a two-dimensional cutting stock problem encountered at a large manufacturer of window covering products. The problem occurs in the production process of made-to-measure roller blinds. We develop a solution method that takes into

The two-dimensional Kolmogorov-Smirnov test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Goodness-of-fit statistics measure the compatibility of random samples against some theoretical probability distribution function. The classical one-dimensional Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is a non-parametric statistic for comparing two empirical ...

Two-Dimensional Hillslope Scale Soil Erosion Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
On a hillslope, overland flow first generates sheet erosion and then, with increasing flux, it causes rill erosion. Sheet erosion (interrill erosion) and rill erosion are commonly observed to coexist on hillslopes.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Heat dissipation study of graphene-based film in single tube IGBT devices

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
The insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) devices often work under significantly high voltage and current, and how to reduce loss within them and prevent damage to them, caused by excessive heating must be considered in their operation. In this paper,

Two-dimensional monadicity

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2014
The behaviour of limits of weak morphisms in 2-dimensional universal algebra is not 2-categorical in that, to fully express the behaviour that occurs, one needs to be able to quantify over strict morphisms amongst the weaker kinds. F-categories were introduced to express this interplay between strict and weak morphisms.

Laminar separation bubbles in two and three dimensional incompressible flow. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
PhDA theoretical and experimental study is made of the closed 'bubbles` of separated flow formed when a laminar boundary layer separates from an aerofoil surface and, after undergoing transition to turbulence, subsequently re-attaches.

Extreme-Point-based Heuristics for the Three-Dimensional Bin Packing problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
One of the main issues in addressing three-dimensional packing problems is finding an efficient and accurate definition of the points at which to place the items inside the bins, because the performance of exact and heuristic solution methods is actually
