Engineering Morphological Anisotropy to Control the In Vivo Transport Dynamics, Clearance, and Biodistribution of Silica Nanocarriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Morphological anisotropy directs the in vivo transport under physiological flow and clearance of silica nanocarriers. Increasing anisotropy reduces cellular uptake, suppresses hepatic and splenic sequestration, and prolongs systemic circulation by steering particles toward the central flow core.

Senkyunolide I Inhibits mtDNA‐cGAS‐STING Signaling in Macrophages via Targeting VDAC1 Oligomerization to Attenuate Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In macrophages, senkyunolide I (SEI) directly targets the K12 residue of VDAC1 to inhibit its stress‐induced oligomerization, a critical upstream event that effectively prevents mitochondrial DNA release and subsequent cGAS‐STING pathway activation.

Sex‐Related Differences in Clinical Profile, Management, and Outcomes of Patients With Type A and B Acute Aortic Dissection: Observations From IRAD

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Available data about sex differences in patients with acute aortic dissection (AAD) are scant and conflicting. The aim of this study is to assess sex‐related differences in clinical characteristics, presentation, diagnostic findings ...

Phase Separation of TRIM21 Modulates PTPN14 Stability to Drive Flow‐Dependent Endothelial Activation and Atherogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Disturbed flow promotes the formation of TRIM21‐rich biomolecular droplets, which concentrate TRIM21 and PTPN14 and facilitate their SPRY‐FERM interaction (illustrated by the TRIM21 D355‐PTPN14 R132 salt bridge). This condensate‐driven proximity enables TRIM21 to catalyze K48‐linked polyubiquitination of PTPN14 at lysine 956, leading to proteasome ...

Type B aortic dissection in Marfan patients after the David procedure: Insights from patient-specific simulationCentral MessagePerspective

open access: yesJTCVS Open
Objective: An elevated risk of acute type B aortic dissection exists in patients with Marfan syndrome after the David procedure. This study explores hemodynamic changes in the descending aorta postsurgery.

THSD7A Exacerbates Atherosclerosis via Activation of Signaling Axis αvβ3/CEBPD/IL1A

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
THSD7A exerts pro‐inflammatory effects and exacerbates atherosclerosis. Mechanistically, THSD7A regulates endothelial cell inflammation and atherosclerosis by activating the αvβ3/CEBPD/IL1A signaling axis. THSD7A is not only a genetic marker but also a potential therapeutic target for coronary artery disease (CAD).

Acute Aortic Dissection in Women: A Comprehensive Review of Sex-Specific Differences, Clinical Management, and Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
Acute aortic dissection (AAD) is a life-threatening cardiovascular emergency characterized by important sex-related differences in presentation, management, and outcomes. Although women account for a smaller proportion of cases, they typically present at

Management of acute Type A aortic dissection [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Journal Armed Forces India, 2014
Acute aortic dissection is a catastrophic event of sudden onset in which blood leaves the normal aortic channel through an intimal tear, rapidly dissecting the layers of the media to produce a false channel. It may involve the ascending aorta and extend to the aortic bifurcation, the so-called Stanford Type A (Fig. 1).

14‐3‐3γ Protects Against Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction by Regulating Tau Thr205 Phosphorylation and Synaptic Integrity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrative multi‐cohort analyses identify 14‐3‐3γ as a biomarker and regulator of cognitive vulnerability. Experimental studies show that 14‐3‐3γ loss is associated with Tau Thr205 phosphorylation, synaptic dysfunction, and cognitive impairment, while genetic overexpression or pharmacological stabilization of 14‐3‐3γ confers protective effects in ...

Increased Disarray of Extracellular Matrix Collagen‐I Fiber Network and Compromised Biomechanics in Aortae From Marfan‐Syndrome Mice Assessed Through Combined Opto‐Biomechatronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combined structure‐function assessment in aortic rings from Marfan mice using MechaMorph Opto‐Biomechatronics technology relates increased elasticity (stiffness) and dynamic viscosity and less ordered extracellular matrix 3D‐structure (collagen) as potential causes for impaired Windkessel function and compromised haemodynamics in Marfan's syndrome ...
