The Viral Tyrosine Protein Kinases
1986The acutely transforming retroviruses have revealed the existence of more than twenty different genes with oncogenic potential. Seven of these — src, abl, yes, erbB, fps (fes), fgr, fms, and ros — encode proteins with intrinsic tyrosine protein kinase activity.

Tyrosine Kinase Signaling at Fertilization
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1997The unfertilized egg is a highly differentiated cell that retains unlimited developmental potential. The execution of that potential requires signal transduction pathways that release the egg from its quiescent metabolic state, direct the union of the maternal and paternal genome, and initiate a developmental program that will guide embryogenesis.

2007
The extraordinary success of imatinib for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors and subgroups of patients with hypereosinophilic syndrome and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia has greatly stimulated the development of small molecule inhibitors for targeted therapy of malignant diseases.
