Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

TRAVELING WAVE SOLUTIONS OF SOME FRACTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Mathematics and Computer Science, 2016
The modified Kudryashov method is powerful, efficient and can be used as an alternative to establish new solutions of different type of fractional differential equations applied in mathematical physics.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Towards Autonomous Multi-UAV U-Space Operation Planning

open access: yes2024 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS)
One of the main challenges in the real-world adoption of multi-Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems lies in the specification of operations and the management of dynamic tasks in varied operational contexts. In this paper, we propose a multi-UAV planning architecture to reduce the level of specialized expertise necessary for handling multi-UAV systems.

Moduli spaces of instantons in flag manifold sigma models. Vortices in quiver gauge theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper, we discuss lumps (sigma model instantons) in flag manifold sigma models. In particular, we focus on the moduli space of BPS lumps in general Kähler flag manifold sigma models. Such a Kähler flag manifold, which takes the form U n 1 + ⋯ + n

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
