Analysis of U87 glioma cells by dielectrophoresis
ELECTROPHORESIS, 2022AbstractGlioblastoma multiforme is the most aggressive and invasive brain cancer consisting of genetically and phenotypically altering glial cells. It has massive heterogeneity due to its highly complex and dynamic microenvironment. Here, electrophysiological properties of U87 human glioma cell line were measured based on a dielectrophoresis phenomenon

Pathology - Research and Practice, 2023
Glioblastoma (GBM) remains the most lethal brain tumor without any curative treatment. Exosomes can mediate cell-to-cell communication, and may function as a new type of targeted therapy. In this study, the therapeutic benefits of exosomes generated by U87 cells treated with curcumin and/or temozolomide were investigated.

Lysophosphatidylserine stimulates chemotactic migration in U87 human glioma cells
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2008Lysophosphatidylserine (LPS) was found to stimulate intracellular calcium increase in U87 human glioma cells. LPS also stimulated chemotactic migration of U87 human glioma cells, which was completely inhibited by pertussis toxin (PTX). Moreover, LPS was also found to stimulate ERK, p38 MAPK, JNK, and Akt activities in U87 cells.

MicroRNA-107 Inhibits U87 Glioma Stem Cells Growth and Invasion
Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, 2013Glioma stem cells (GSCs) are thought to be critical for resistance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy and for tumor recurrence after surgery in glioma patients. Identification of new therapeutic strategies that can target GSCs may thus be critical for improving patient survival.

Cytotoxic Effects of Ferula Latisecta on Human Glioma U87 Cells
Drug Research, 2019AbstractGlioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the fatal type of astrocytic tumors with a survival rate of 12 months. The present study, for the first time, evaluated the cytotoxic impacts of Ferula latisecta (F. latisecta) hydroalcoholic extract on U87 GBM cell line.

Proteomic level changes associated with S3I201 treated U87 glioma cells
Journal of Proteomics, 2017Glioblastoma multiforme is Grade IV brain tumor associated with high mortality and limited therapeutics. Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3) is persistently active in several cancers including gliomas, and plays a major role in disease progression and survival of glioma patients, thus being a potential therapeutic target for ...
