Analysis of U87 glioma cells by dielectrophoresis

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2022
AbstractGlioblastoma multiforme is the most aggressive and invasive brain cancer consisting of genetically and phenotypically altering glial cells. It has massive heterogeneity due to its highly complex and dynamic microenvironment. Here, electrophysiological properties of U87 human glioma cell line were measured based on a dielectrophoresis phenomenon

Comparison of metabolite profiles in U87 glioma cells and mesenchymal stem cells

BioSystems, 2011
Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) profiles were generated from U87 glioma cells and human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC). 37 metabolites representing glycolysis intermediates, TCA cycle metabolites, amino acids and lipids were selected for a detailed analysis.

Exosomes released from U87 glioma cells treated with curcumin and/or temozolomide produce apoptosis in naive U87 cells

Pathology - Research and Practice, 2023
Glioblastoma (GBM) remains the most lethal brain tumor without any curative treatment. Exosomes can mediate cell-to-cell communication, and may function as a new type of targeted therapy. In this study, the therapeutic benefits of exosomes generated by U87 cells treated with curcumin and/or temozolomide were investigated.

Proapoptotic effect of Ginkgo biloba extract on U87 glioma cells

open access: yesFASEB Journal, 2021
Objective To study the pro‐apoptotic effect of Ginkgo biloba extract on U87 glioma cells. Methods After 24 hours of Ginkgo biloba extract intervention, the proliferation of U87 glioma cells was observed by CCK‐8 with different ...

Lysophosphatidylserine stimulates chemotactic migration in U87 human glioma cells

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2008
Lysophosphatidylserine (LPS) was found to stimulate intracellular calcium increase in U87 human glioma cells. LPS also stimulated chemotactic migration of U87 human glioma cells, which was completely inhibited by pertussis toxin (PTX). Moreover, LPS was also found to stimulate ERK, p38 MAPK, JNK, and Akt activities in U87 cells.

Metabolic Impact of Anti-Angiogenic Agents on U87 Glioma Cells

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Glioma cells not only secrete high levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) but also express VEGF receptors (VEGFR), supporting the existence of an autocrine loop. The direct impact on glioma cells metabolism of drugs targeting the VEGF pathway, such as Bevacizumab (Bev) or VEGFR Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (TKI), is poorly known.U87 cells ...
