Overexpression of UDP-glycosyltransferase potentially involved in insecticide resistance in Aphis gossypii Glover collected from Bt cotton fields in China.

Pest Management Science, 2019
BACKGROUN The cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover is one of the most destructive insect pests. It has evolved resistance to numerous insecticides around the world due to the application of insecticides.

Contribution of UDP-glycosyltransferases to clothianidin resistance in Bradysia odoriphaga

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology
Uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferases (UGTs) play critical roles in xenobiotic detoxification and are involved in insecticide resistance. In this study, UGT inhibitors, sulfinpyrazone and 5-nitrouracil, exhibited significant synergistic effects on clothianidin in the clothianidin-resistant strain (CL-R) of Bradysia odoriphaga. UGT enzyme content was

A Novel Function for UDP Glycosyltransferase 8: Galactosidation of Bile Acids

Molecular Pharmacology, 2015
The human UDP glycosyltransferase (UGT) superfamily comprises four families of enzymes that catalyze the addition of sugar residues to small lipophilic chemicals. The UGT1 and UGT2 enzymes use UDP-glucuronic acid, and UGT3 enzymes use UDP-N-acetylglucosamine, UDP-glucose, and UDP-xylose to conjugate xenobiotics, including drugs and endobiotics such as ...

Enzymatic synthesis of novel corylifol A glucosides via a UDP-glycosyltransferase

Carbohydrate Research, 2017
Corylifol A, a member of the isoflavone subclass of isoflavonoids, has long been considered to have various biological activities. Here, we sought to synthesize corylifol A glucosides by the in vitro glucosylation reaction using the UDP-glycosyltransferase YjiC from Bacillus licheniformis DSM 13, and obtained two novel glucosides: corylifol A-4',7-di-O-

The Novel UDP Glycosyltransferase 3A2: Cloning, Catalytic Properties, and Tissue Distribution

Molecular Pharmacology, 2011
The human UDP glycosyltransferase (UGT) 3A family is one of three families involved in the metabolism of small lipophilic compounds. Members of these families catalyze the addition of sugar residues to chemicals, which enhances their excretion from the body.

Metabolic detoxification of capsaicin by UDP‐glycosyltransferase in three Helicoverpa species

Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, 2011
AbstractCapsaicin β‐glucoside was isolated from the feces of Helicoverpa armigera, Helicoverpa assulta, and Helicoverpa zea that fed on capsaicin‐supplemented artificial diet. The chemical structure was identified by NMR spectroscopic analysis as well as by enzymatic hydrolysis.

Molecular cloning and biochemical characterization of two UDP-glycosyltransferases from poplar

Phytochemistry, 2013
Two pathogen-induced uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferases (UGTs) identified previously via co-expression with induced proanthocyanidin (PA) synthesis in poplar were cloned and characterized. Phylogenetic analysis grouped both genes with other known flavonoid UGTs that act on flavonols and anthocyanins.
