Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

High-pressure neutron diffraction at ultra-low temperature

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Neutron diffraction is a powerful tool in the study of quantum materials and associated emergent phenomena as it allows for direct detection of magnetic structure even at ultra-low temperatures.

Influence of Ultra-low Temperature Thermal Fatigue on Microstructure and Mechanical Property of Z2CND18.12 Austenitic Stainless Steel

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu
At present, ice plug technology is often used in the maintenance process of nuclear power plants to isolate part of the main pipeline and use refrigerant such as liquid nitrogen for ultra-low temperature treatment, so that the internal fluid is frozen to

Superconducting noise-source for ultra-low temperatures

open access: yesTechnical Physics Letters, 2022
The device operates at temperatures <300 mK and comprises a hafnium microbridge and a superconducting aluminum tunnel junction both integrated into a common coplanar waveguide. The microbridge matches with a planar antenna and operates as an optical blackbody at frequencies 600-700 GHz.

Paramagnetic Reentrance Effect in NS Proximity Cylinders

open access: yes, 2000
A scenario for the unusual paramagnetic reentrance behavior at ultra-low temperatures in Nb-Ag, Nb-Au, and Nb-Cu cylinders is presented. For the diamagnetic response down to temperatures of the order 15 mK, the standard theory (quasi-classical ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

ULT freezer performance and dual-temperature storage in a modern biobank: preserving sample integrity during transition

open access: yesJournal of Laboratory Medicine
This study evaluated temperature stability, warm-up characteristics, and energy consumption of ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers operated at −80 °C, −70 °C, and −60 °C, to support sustainable storage practices in biobanking.
