Development of a Manipulator Free Mobile Ultrasonic C-Scan System
Ultrasonic C-scan inspections have been used in various industrial fields. Usually, conventional ultrasonic C-scan systems have several mechanical manipulating axis controlled by a computer or an electronic device. These systems are suitable for the high resolution and inspection quality.

Ultrasonic C-scan evaluation of Ti-alloy/Al brazed joint
An indigenously developed brazed joint of Al/Ti was characterized by ultrasonic C-scan method. The study revealed certain debond locations in the brazed joint. These debond locations would have resulted due to the failure of filler material’s joining ability.

Ultrasonic C-Scan Standardization for Polymer-Matrix Composites - Acoustic Considerations
Ultrasonic C-scan inspection techniques are widely used for the non-destructive evaluation of fiber-reinforced polymer composites. A C-scan is any two-dimensional scan of a specimen that produces a map of a parameter, such as reflected amplitude, as it varies across the surface of the specimen.

Ultrasonic (C-scan) and microscopic evaluation of resin transfer molded epoxy composite plates
One of the main problem in resin transfer molding (RTM) is the formation of microvoids decreasing the mechanical performance of the components. In this study, an ultrasonic inspection method (C-scan) was used to evaluate these microvoids.

Automated Ultrasonic Testing of Materials based on C-scan Flaw Classification
2021 12th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis (ISPA), 2021The analysis of the data in non-destructive ultrasonic testing of materials is a very time- intensive task. To alleviate the aforementioned strain on the human expert inspectors, a plethora of assisted analysis methods based on deep learning have been developed recently.

Ultrasonic C-scan techniques for the evaluation of impact damage in CFRP
Materials Testing, 2021Abstract In the present work, different ultrasonic C-scan approaches were used to evaluate Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP) submitted to impacts of low energy, in order to evaluate their effectiveness for the detection and characterization of small defects.

Neural network correction of ultrasonic C-scan images
Ultrasonics, 1999A neural network-based approach to the correction of C-scan images is presented. This allows the effects of a finite ultrasonic beam diameter in an immersion experiment to be considered, by training the network on a series of defects of known characteristics. The result is an image which is a better representation of the actual defect.

Ultrasonic C-scan imaging for material characterization
Ultrasonics, 1993Abstract Advances in the field have enabled ultrasonic C-scan imaging to go beyond its classical application of detecting large single flaws to meet the challenge of non-destructive evaluation for modern engineered structures and new materials. Increased frequency of operation and novel transducer designs have led to micrometre resolution limits for ...

An inexpensive computer-controlled ultrasonic C-scan system
NDT International, 1983Abstract A microcomputer-controlled ultrasonic C-scan system is described with emphasis on interfacing and image formation. Examples are given which illustrate the potential of the system for quantitative C-scanning and image enhancement. The system was assembled from inexpensive off-the-shelf items of equipment.
