Anaerobic digestion of Ulva sp. 1. Relationship between Ulva composition and methanisation
Journal of Applied Phycology, 1997Ulva often represents the main component of mass algal growths, and its composition and degradability make it a relatively good methanisation substrate. In ‘green tides’ Ulva sp. from Brittany, the low content oflignin-type components (polyphloroglucinols: 1.3% dry weight), and the large hemicellulosic fraction (9% dry weight) favour the substrate's ...

Allelopathic effects of several concentrations of fresh tissue, dry powder and dry tissue of three bloom-forming green macroalgae Ulva pertusa, Ulva linza and Enteromopha intestinalis on the red tide microalga Heterosigma akashiwo were evaluated in microcosms systems. The effects of macroalgae culture medium filtrate were investigated on H.

Glycoproteins from ulva lactuca
Phytochemistry, 1987Abstract Ulva lactuca yielded glycoprotein materials which differed significantly in their carbohydrate and protein moieties. The electrophoretic patterns of the isolated materials showed the presence in each of glycoprotein and polysaccharide components. All the glycoprotein components moved towards the cathode. The glycoprotein material isolated

A strictly aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped and non-motile bacterium, designated strain 6Alg 255(T), was isolated from the green alga Ulva fenestrata. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed that the novel strain affiliated to the family Rhodobacteraceae of the class Alphaproteobacteria being most closely related to ...

Ulva prolifera Transcriptome sequencing
2016the present study comparative analysis of transcriptome sequencing of the U. prolifera under salicylic acid addition at high temperature (UpSHT-treatment) and high temperature (UpHT-control) conditions has been investigated to understand the molecular functions of salicylic acid in regulated high temperature stress.

IN the course of experiments on Ulva mutabilis1 some gametophytes are occasionally found forming swarmer which copulate neither with +-gametes nor with −-gametes. These swarmers are diploid, as revealed by cytological and genetical examination. They are biflagellate and of normal size, and otherwise they fully resemble normal gametes.
