All-fiber high-voltage capacitor unbalanced current transformer
Applied Optics, 2021According to the high-voltage and small-current characteristics for unbalanced current of high-voltage capacitors, a novel fiber optical filter unbalanced current transformer (FU-FOCT) is proposed, where an all-fiber temperature sensor based on the temperature birefringence effect of polarization-maintaining fiber is designed and integrated into an FU ...

An active power filter and unbalanced current compensator
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1997This paper presents the synthesis and performance of a shunt active power filter based on the three-phase pulsewidth modulation (PWM) voltage converter connected to the AC mains. Current harmonics and asymmetries caused by nonlinear loads can be compensated.

Cathode current distributions in an unbalanced magnetron
Surface and Coatings Technology, 2005Abstract The planar magnetron is extensively used as a sputtering source for a wide variety of target materials. Unfortunately, in some configurations, the target may have to be replaced when as little as 30% of its material had been sputtered [S. Schiller, U. Heisig, K. Goedicke, Thin Solid Films, 40 (1977) 327–334].

Generator protection from unbalanced currents
Electrical Engineering, 1953WHEN A GENERATOR is subjected to unbalanced short-circuit currents, a negative-sequence current (I 2 ) is caused to flow in the stator windings, establishing a counter rotating flux that induces double-frequency rotor currents. The rotor currents flow in the surface parts of the rotor and cause detrimental heating.

Pipe-Type Cable Losses for Balanced and Unbalanced Currents
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002Computations of pipe eddy current losses have been undertaken for balanced and unbalanced current using a program for transient nonlinear finite element analysis developed by one of the authors. Good agreement is obtained with experimental data from the literature.

Current-Voltage Formulation of the Unbalanced Optimal Power Flow Problem
2020 8th Workshop on Modeling and Simulation of Cyber-Physical Energy Systems, 2020State estimation and optimal control approaches in power systems use a variety of sensors, to enable smarter distribution grid management. Such approaches can be cast as optimization models subject to the power flow physics. Kirchhoff's circuit laws are linear equations in current and voltage phasors for known branch impedance matrices, but nonlinear ...

Current Compensators for Unbalanced Electric Distribution Systems
2018 IEEE Electronic Power Grid (eGrid), 2018Inherent current imbalances are often present in electric distribution systems due to the increase of single-phase generation in the form of renewables and the existence of single-phase loads. The continued expansion of non-linear load usage is also increasing the levels of harmonics through the power transformers servicing these distribution systems ...

Effects of Unbalanced Current on Turbine-Generators
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1965In the application of turbine-generators, the effects of unbalanced current on the generator must be given more consideration as the unit loading of generators is increased. Types of generator rotor construction are discussed and representative calculated temperatures obtained under fault conditions are given.

Analysis of internal unbalancing current in distribution transformers
2015 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Informatics, Communication and Energy Systems (SPICES), 2015Transformers are basically a static device with more than 95% efficiency. The major losses in transformers are copper loss and core loss. The minor losses are frictional and windage losses. But the formation of neutral current in the distribution transformers will create minor loss that will affect the efficiency of the transformer.

Unbalanced Growth and the Sustainability of the Current Account Deficit
Review of International Economics, 2006AbstractIn an endogenous growth framework, a two‐country economy is modeled with an integrated product and asset markets. The countries differ with respect to the share of their GDP that is redistributed through the fiscal system, and the country where this share is smaller tends to grow faster.
