Fractionation of Wood Biomass With Thiolactic Acid and Choline Chloride-Based Solvent Into White Lignin for Sustainable Cooling Applications. [PDF]
A novel and highly efficient wood biomass fractionation method was developed to produce white lignin, exhibiting the brightest color reported to date. The process yielded white lignin with high yield, excellent visible light reflectance, and elevated infrared emissivity, highlighting its potential as an active material for passive radiative cooling ...

One-Step Extreme Delignification to Simultaneously Produce High-Purity Cellulose and Phenolated Lignin. [PDF]
An extreme delignification strategy using a formic acid–phenol–water system enables the simultaneous production of high‐brightness cellulose fibers and highly reactive phenolic lignin from various biomass sources, providing a sustainable pathway for high‐value utilization of lignocellulosic biomass.

Electrochemical Characteristics of Lignin in CTMP for Paper Battery Electrodes. [PDF]
Lignin naturally present in papers made of unbleached mechanical pulps is electrochemically active. Here, softwood chemi‐thermomechanical pulp (CTMP) is studied as an active cathode material for application in paper batteries. Proof‐of‐concept measurements are shown, and it is found that softwood CTMP fines exhibit competing oxidative electrochemical ...

Microfibrillated lignocellulose (MFLC) and nanopaper films from unbleached kraft softwood pulp [PDF]
AbstractMicrofibrillated cellulose (MFC) is an important industrial nanocellulose product and material component. New MFC grades can widen the materials property range and improve product tailoring. Microfibrillated lignocellulose (MFLC) is investigated, with the hypothesis that there is an optimum in lignin content of unbleached wood pulp fibre with ...

Investigation on potential long fibre Pinus eldarica Kraft Pulp [PDF]
Kraft pulping of Pinus eldarica wood was carried out at 18% active alkali, 25% sulphidity and pulping temperature & Time of 165 C and 90 minutes pulp was compared with imported unbleached long fibre pulp with the kappa number of 34.

Stellera chamaejasme Roots as Raw Material for Pulp Production
Cellulosic pulps were prepared from Stellera chamaejasme roots using soda, soda-anthraquinone (soda-AQ), and kraft pulping processes. S. chamaejasme is composed of 73.5% holocellulose, 39.7% α-cellulose, and 17.6% lignin, similar to wheat straw and other
