An extension of Tanner's results on uncontrolled intersections
Queueing Systems, 1987The article is based on the work of \textit{J. C. Tanner} [Biometrika 49, 163-170 (1962; Zbl 0213.456)]. Tanner's arrival process is generalized and formulae for the average queueing time and service time are given.

Analysis of Pedestrian Crossing Behavior at Uncontrolled Intersections
2020Increased vehicular population in second-tier urban areas and disobedience to the traffic laws by the road users (pedestrians and others) leads to a significant concern about the safety. This has become a very serious problem, unable to be controlled either by the enforcement or any means.

Uncontrolled T Intersections: Who Should Yield?
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1987A questionnaire is distributed to licensed drivers in Iowa, asking questions regarding assignment of right‐of‐way at uncontrolled T intersections. A majority of respondents gives incorrect answers. Age is determined to be related to correctness of response, with older drivers having a greater proportion of correct responses than younger drivers ...

Vehicle-Arrival Characteristics at Urban Uncontrolled Intersections
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1995Vehicle-arrival characteristics are an important input for evaluating the performance measures at urban uncontrolled intersections. In the present study an attempt is made to identify suitable probability distribution models for vehicle arrivals at uncontrolled intersections under mixed traffic conditions. Data consisting of traffic volume, composition,

Model for Sight-Distance Analysis of Uncontrolled Intersections
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1998The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) model of calculating sight distance at intersections without control (Case I) has been modified to explicitly incorporate the design speeds of both intersecting roads in computing the required sight distance for each road.

Ontology-based decision making on uncontrolled intersections and narrow roads
2015 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2015Many Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have been developed to improve car safety. However, it is still a challenging problem to make autonomous vehicles to drive safely on urban streets such as uncontrolled intersections (without traffic lights) and narrow roads.

Stochastic simulation of the traffic of an uncontrolled road intersection
Transportation Research, 1976Abstract The paper describes the logic and results of a stochastic simulation model for uncontrolled intersections with poor visibility where the right of way belongs to the driver on the right. The model deals with crossings with and without turning movements. Several runs have been made with realistic input values.

Conditions that Influence Drivers’ Yielding Behavior for Uncontrolled Intersections
Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, 2011Pedestrians with visual impairments need to cross streets where traffic signals and traffic signage are not present. This study examined the influences of several interventions, including a pedestrian's use of a mobility cane, on the behavior of drivers when they were expected to yield to a pedestrian crossing at an uncontrolled crossing.
