Newton's Idea and Practice of Unification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper I try to capture Newton's notion and practice of unification (I will mainly focus on the Principia). I will use contemporary theories on unification in philosophy of science as analytic tools (Kitcher, Schurz and Salmon).

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Emergent Braided Matter of Quantum Geometry

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2012
We review and present a few new results of the program of emergent matter as braid excitations of quantum geometry that is represented by braided ribbon networks.

Les grammaires de construction

open access: yesAnglophonia, 2007
This paper is a short presentation of some basic aspects of the grammatical theory known as construction grammar, which has been differently developed by Ch. Fillmore, R. Langacker, and A. Goldberg, among others.

Substrate specificity of Burkholderia pseudomallei multidrug transporters is influenced by the hydrophilic patch in the substrate‐binding pocket

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...

Gauge Coupling Unification in Superstring Derived Standard--like Models

open access: yes, 1993
I discuss gauge coupling unification in a class of superstring standard--like models, which are derived in the free fermionic formulation. Recent calculations indicate that the superstring unification scale is at $O(10^{18}GeV)$ while the minimal ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Electro-gravity entanglement [PDF]

open access: yesKragujevac Journal of Science
One fundamental question is the connection between electrical and gravitational forces. We present a quantum entanglement model, with multiple discrete electrically charged wave-packets, that simulates gravitational attraction among them, where quantum ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.
