Adaptation of the invasive pest Drosophila suzukii to a specialized nutritional niche
Unlike most Drosophila larvae that feed on spoiled food, Drosophila suzukii larvae thrive on ripening fruits and consequently face a low‐protein, high‐carbohydrate nutritional challenge. Comparisons of growth among D. suzukii, D. biarmipes, and D. melanogaster larvae across diets with varying protein‐to‐carbohydrate ratios demonstrate that D.

Abstract Background and Purpose D‐amino acid oxidase (DAO) has been developed as a chemogenetic tool, to precisely manipulate redox levels in tissues and cells by generating H2O2 in the presence of D‐amino acids. Mice expressing only mutant PTEN Y138L, a protein which shows normal suppression of cellular AKT yet lacks protein phosphatase activity, die in utero, and heterozygous mice display a range of tumors. This indicates both the lipid and protein phosphatase activities of PTEN work together for normal tumor suppression and embryonic development.

In summary, we have developed a monocyte‐based reporter system using hESC‐Mono for interrogating the NF‐κB signalling axis, a central pathway governing pyrogenic responses. Our platform enables rapid and dose‐dependent detection of both endotoxins (LPS) and non‐endotoxins (LTA and Zymosan).

The eukaryote‐specific N‐terminal domain (NTD) of eS31 uses two distinct strategies to maintain translation fidelity. During elongation, a positively charged “hotspot” fine‐tunes the selection of incoming aa‐tRNA. During termination, the entire NTD acts as a structural scaffold to ensure the correct positioning of the release factor eRF1.
