The purpose of the present investigation was to determine whether a single bolus intravenous injection (2000 mg/kg) of uridine diphosphoglucose (UDPG) could affect levels of PRPP in a transplanted mammary adenocarcinoma and in liver of CD8FI mice. Six hours following a single intravenous injection of UDPG, 2000 mg/kg, tumor PRPP was lowered to 80 pmol ...

5′-Mercuri-uridine triphosphate as a substrate for transcription
Analytical Biochemistry, 1982Abstract The use of mercurated nucleotides permitting a specific isolation of newly synthesized RNA has proven useful in the study of in vitro transcription. However, there has been little direct investigation of their effect on the polymerization reaction.

The contraction of vascular smooth muscle is thought to be regulated by reversible phosphorylation of the 20,000 dalton light chains of myosin, catalyzed by myosin light chain kinase that is dependent on calcium and calmodulin. With phosphorylation, there is a coincident increase in the actin-activated myosin NTPase activity, cross bridge interaction ...

Inhibition of uridine‐cytidine kinase by 5‐azacytidine 5′‐triphosphate
Medical and Pediatric Oncology, 1976Abstract5‐Azacytidine 5′‐triphosphate (5‐aza‐CTP) inhibited the phosphorylation of uridine, cytidine, and 5‐azacytidine (5‐aza‐C) in a reaction catalyzed by uridine‐cytidine kinase. The inhibition appeared to be competitive with respect to the adenosine 5′‐triphosphate and noncompetitive with respect to nucleoside substrates.

Abstract 1. 1. The uptake and metabolism of β-P 32 -labelled UTP, ATP and uniformly labelled PPi was studied using bacteria washed twice with and immediately resuspended in a medium containing 0.031 M PO 3− 4 . 2. 2. Under these conditions, little P 32 -labelled PO 3− 4 was detected extracellularly when the cells were exposed for 2–5 min ...

Identification of Uridine 5'-triphosphate Receptor mRNA in Rat Cochlear Tissues
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 2000Previous investigations have reported the presence of uridine 5'-triphosphate (UTP) and adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) receptors triggering phospholipase C (PLC) activation in the frog semicircular canal. The aim of this work was to characterize the molecular subtypes of these nucleotide receptors.

[Metabolism of uridine triphosphate in rat liver].
Ukrains'kyi biokhimichnyi zhurnal, 1976Thiamin - a predecessor of transketolase coenzyme is shown to cause an increase in the intensity of labelled 14C orotic acid incorporation into UDP and UTP of the rat liver though the time of UTP exchange remains unchanged. Taking into account the data obtained, an assumption is advanced that the biosynthesis of pentoses in the pentosophosphate way of ...
