Using animals for the training of physicians and surgeons

Theoretical Medicine, 1989
It is argued that cultural attitudes of a speciesist nature are background to the current practice of animal use in teaching medical students and residents. Understanding and using Animal Models of Hepatotoxicity

Current Pharmaceutical Design
Hepatotoxicity is a critical health hazard, primarily contributing to the increased incidence of deaths globally. The liver is one of the major and extremely vital organs of the human body. Autoimmune diseases, viruses, exposure to toxicants such as carcinogens, and changes in eating habits can all cause liver problems, among other things.

Mechanism Design Using Animation

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1976
Modern mechanism synthesis techniques provide powerful tools for satisfying path constraints. However, for industrial applications there are often equally important constraints on space available for the mechanism and on how it can be driven. Two examples clarify the problem. A computer graphics procedure is outlined as a workable solution.

Thoughts on Using Animals for Food

Journal of Applied Animal Ethics Research, 2019
Abstract In 1978, the first GMO was insulin. By creating a new form of life, cattle and pig slaughter was no longer required to obtain lifesaving insulin. Maybe in the distant future, raising animals for food might become obsolete. This may occur when genetic engineering methods for creating totally novel animals and plants becomes reality.

Systems Using Animal Traction

1992
The combination of crop and animal husbandry has been the objective of a large number of experiments in an area where traditional practice has been to run the two enterprises parallel rather than in true combination. The idea of replacing hand cultivation by animal traction has always appealed to agronomists because the former is so unproductive. There

Using Animations & Utilities

2012
In this section, I show you how to use the WinJS animation features. The consistency in color and typography that Windows apps typically have can make it difficult for the user to realize that content has been updated or replaced and it can be useful to highlight the change with a short animation.
