Interaction vesicles as emerging mediators of host‐pathogen molecular crosstalk and their implications for infection dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...

NUI framework based on real-time head pose estimation and hand gesture recognition

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
The natural user interface (NUI) is used for the natural motion interface without using device or tool such as mice, keyboards, pens and markers. In this paper, we develop natural user interface framework based on two recognition module.

Assembling and Rearranging Digital Objects in Physical Space with Tongs, a Gluegun, and a Lightsaber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present an interface for the arrangement of objects in three-dimensional space. Physical motions of the user are mapped to interface commands through tangible props.

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

MultiMice Air Hockey. A Game with a Low-Cost Non-Conventional Interface

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2010
Interaction between user and computer is gradually going beyond the traditional mouse and keyboard. New ways of interaction are emerging, which use new and different means for data acquisition.

Signature of geometry modulation on interface magnetism emerged in isomeric IrO2-CoFe2O4 heterostructures [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The interface composed of magnets and strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) materials forms an important platform for spintronic devices and intriguing magnetic phenomena, such as the chiral spin textures and magnetic proximity effect (MPE). The interface exchange interaction and Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) have been discussed in a wide range of

Developing User Interfaces for Wearable Computers: Don't Stop to Point and Click [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Typical usage scenarios for wearable computers are support of users doing a certain task, e.g. aircraft repair or military applications. If the user is moving while using the wearable some restriction for the user interface apply.

Brucella NyxA and NyxB dimerization enhances effector function during infection

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Brucella abortus thrives inside cells thanks to the translocation of effector proteins that fine‐tune cellular functions. NyxA and NyxB are two effectors that destabilize the nucleolar localization of their host target, SENP3. We show that the Nyx proteins directly interact with each other and that their dimerization is essential for their function ...
