Non‐Targeting shRNA‐Encoded Plasmid DNA Enhances Protective Immunity Through RIDD‐RIG‐I Signaling Pathway in the Zika Virus Animal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a novel DNA vaccine platform featuring intrinsic, non‐targeting dsRNA that significantly enhances immune responses by activating the regulated IRE1‐dependent decay‐RIG‐I signaling pathway. This research elucidates a previously uncharacterized mechanism for dsRNA‐mediated innate immune activation.

CD8+ T cell memory is sustained in mice by hepatic stellate cells

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
HSC role in memory CD8+ T cell maintenance. Abstract Background and Aims Long‐lasting immunological memory is the ultimate goal of vaccination. Homeostatic maintenance of memory CD8+ cytotoxic T cells (MemCD8TCs) is thought to be mediated by IL‐15/IL‐15R heterodimer (15HD)‐expressing myeloid cells.

Histomorphometric evaluation of intestinal cellular immune responses in pigs immunized with live oral F4ac+ non-enterotoxigenic E. coli vaccine against postweaning colibacillosis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry, 2010
Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) infection is the most common type of porcine postweaning colibacillosis (PWC). Among fimbriae of porcine ETEC strains the best studied family of fimbriae are the members of F4 adhesins, existing in at least three ...

CD45RA and CD45RC isoforms expression in weaned pigs vaccinated with non-enterotoxigenic F4ac+ Escherichia coli strain against colibacillosis

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2002
Since no effective vaccine is available for its immunoprophylaxis, porcine post-weaning diarrhoea (PWD) induced by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) strains remains an important cause of morbidity.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.

Study on a New Isolate of Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Research, 2005
Fifteen outbreaks with clinical picture and post- mortem lesions similar to that of rabbit haemorrhagic viral disease (RHVD) were investigated in vaccinated flocks during the period between February and July 2005 at Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.

Histopathological changes of trachea in three genetic lines of broilers vaccinated with avian infectious bronchitis virus

open access: yesKufa Journal for Veterinary Medical Sciences, 2016
The histopathology of trachea was studied in three genetic lines of broilers which vaccinated with avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) vaccines. Differences in genetic immune response and susceptibility are known for many of the major viral pathogens

Antagonistic Ubiquitin Switching by USP7 and RNF40 Orchestrates KDM6A Homeostasis to License Coronavirus Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify an antagonistic ubiquitin circuit that controls cellular permissiveness to multiple coronaviruses. The deubiquitinase USP7 stabilizes the epigenetic regulator KDM6A to upregulate viral receptors, while the E3 ligase RNF40 degrades KDM6A by catalyzing K6/K11‐ubiquitin chains of KDM6A for autophagic degradation.

Short duration of neutralizing antibody titers after pre-exposure rabies vaccination with suckling mouse brain vaccine

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 1998
The human anti-rabies pre-exposure treatment currently used in Brazil, employing a 1-ml dose of suckling mouse brain vaccine (SMBV) administered on days 0, 2, 4 and 28, was compared to an alternative treatment with two 1 ml-doses on day 0, and one 1 ml ...
