Resistance of Vaccinium spp. to the Leafhopper Scaphytopius magdalensis (Homoptera: Cicadellidae)

Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1990
Natural host plant resistance to the leafhopper Scaphytopius magdalensis (Provancher) was evaluated across 169 genotypes representing 14 blueberry species in four sections of Vaccinium native to North America. Plants were screened by caging neonate nymphs on individual leaves and recording development time (and mortality) through five molts.

GUS expression in blueberry ( Vaccinium spp.): factors influencing Agrobacterium -mediated gene transfer efficiency

Plant Cell Reports, 1998
Several factors were investigated for their influence on the transfer of an intron-containing β-glucuronidase (GUS) gene into blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) leaf explants during the early stages of Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer, including days of cocultivation, strain of Agrobacterium tumefaciens, explant age and genotype.

Correlation between Species-Specific Metabolite Profiles and Bioactivities of Blueberries (Vaccinium spp.)

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2014
Metabolite profiling of three blueberry species (Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb., V. oldhamii Miquel., and V. corymbosum L.) was performed using gas chromatography-time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (GC-TOF-MS) and ultraperformance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) combined multivariate analysis.

Evaluation of Vaccinium spp. for Illinoia pepperi (Hemiptera: Aphididae) Performance and Phenolic Content

Journal of Economic Entomology, 2006
Host acceptance and population parameters of the aphid Illinoia pepperi (MacGillivray) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) were measured on highbush blueberry, Vaccinium corymbosum L. 'Elliott', and the wild species Vaccinium boreale Hall and Aalders, Vaccinium tenellum Aiton, Vaccinium pallidum Aiton, Vaccinium hirsutum Buckley, Vaccinium myrsinites Lamarck, and ...

Environmental variables affect fungal diversity on blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) leaf surfaces

2009
The economically important blueberry, Vaccinium cyanococcus, is susceptible to a number of diseases, some of which are propagated by fungi living on the leaf surface. The leaf surface (phylloplane) is a cryptic environment that harbors a variety of pathogens and pathogen antagonists, and these populations are affected by many factors including weather,
