The impact of different packaging methods on physicochemical properties of yellow curry pastes products during storage period [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
The eventual quality of yellow curry paste packaging is influenced by the packaging method and materials. The presents study assessed the effect of packaging methods on yellow curry paste samples packed in polypropylene and multilayer packages.

Multivariate statistical analysis for the identification of potential seafood spoilage indicators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) characterize the spoilage of seafood packaged under modified atmospheres (MAs) and could thus be used for quality monitoring.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Effects of four types of packaging on the structural characteristics, quality attributes, and antioxidant activity of foxtail millet during storage

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food
The aim of this study is to select suitable packaging for extending the shelf-life of foxtail millet grains (FMG). FMG were packaged in four types of packaging and subsequently stored at room temperature (25°C ± 1°C) for 6 months.

Comparison of modified atmosphere packaging and vacuum packaging for long period storage of dry-cured ham: effects on colour, texture and microbiological quality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Slices of dry-cured hams (Biceps femoris muscle) were stored during 8 weeks under vacuum and modified atmospheres (100% N2 and a mixture of 20% CO2 and 80% N2) in order to study the modifications on colour, texture and microbial counts during that period.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

0-level Vacuum Packaging RT Process for MEMS Resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A new Room Temperature (RT) 0-level vacuum package is demonstrated in this work, using amorphous silicon (aSi) as sacrificial layer and SiO2 as structural layer. The process is compatible with most of MEMS resonators and Resonant Suspended-Gate MOSFET [1]

Heat Resistance of Human Pathogens in Sous-Vide Products Studied in Model Nutrition Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Sous-vide (French for ʽunder vacuum’) is a professional cooking method, by which, under oxygen-free conditions and precise temperature control, not only cooking but preservation is achieved.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
