Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

VACUUM PACKAGING OF FRESH BEEF: A REVIEW [PDF]
ABSTRACTVacuum packaging is a method of distributing beef primal cuts in oxygen impermeable bags under vacuum. Increased technology in the application of vacuum packaging has verified that it provides a means of prolonging the shelf‐life and palatability of beef during extended periods of shipment and storage.

Packaging Alters Fresh Chicken Characteristics and Volatile Profiles During Refrigerated Storage
Vacuum-based packaging is less frequently applied to poultry at the retail level. Evaluating the impact of vacuum packaging on fresh poultry may elicit extensions to storage life and reduce spoilage for consumer products such as fresh chicken.

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

0-level Vacuum Packaging RT Process for MEMS Resonators [PDF]
A new Room Temperature (RT) 0-level vacuum package is demonstrated in this work, using amorphous silicon (aSi) as sacrificial layer and SiO2 as structural layer. The process is compatible with most of MEMS resonators and Resonant Suspended-Gate MOSFET [1]

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.
