The Ni,Cd Heteroatoms‐Initiated Synergistic Tuning of Electron Configuration in Fe2VO4 Nanosheets Electrocatalysts to Profoundly Stabilize Alkaline Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni,Cd‐codoped Fe2VO4/NF bifunctional electrocatalyst is rationally designed for efficient seawater electrolysis. Synergistic effect modulates electron configuration, optimizes intermediates adsorption, stabilizes high‐valence Fe/V sites, and repels chloride ions to suppress corrosion and side reactions, thus contributing to performance improvement of

Achieving zT > 2 in p‐Type AgSbTe 2− x Se x Alloys via Exploring the Extra Light Valence Band and Introducing Dense Stacking Faults

open access: yes, 2017
Through simultaneously enhancing the power factor by engineering the extra light band and enhancing phonon scatterings by introducing a high density of stacking faults, a record figure-of-merit over 2.0 is achieved in p-type AgSbTe2−xSex alloys.

Polarity‐Reversible Photoresponse–Driven Autonomous Wavelength Discrimination in Quantum Dot–Tellurium Thin‐Film Photodetectors via Engineered Energy‐Band Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quantum dot–tellurium thin‐film photodetector autonomously discriminates visible and infrared wavelengths through polarity‐reversible photoresponses. Engineered carrier separation and gain modulation enable filter‐free multispectral sensing within a single‐device architecture.

E-k Relation of Valence Band in Arbitrary Orientation/Typical Plane Uniaxially Strained

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2014
Uniaxial strain technology is an effective way to improve the performance of the small size CMOS devices, by which carrier mobility can be enhanced. The E-k relation of the valence band in uniaxially strained Si is the theoretical basis for understanding

Self‐Adaptive Anhydrous Passivation Mitigates Open‐Circuit Voltage Loss in Pb‐Sn Mixed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, a self‐adaptive anhydrous passivation strategy is introduced by incorporating trimellitic anhydride (TMAH) into the perovskite precursor. In situ hydrolysis of TMAH yields trimellitic acid (TMA); ‐C═O/‐COO− groups of TMAH/TMA form a chelate with undercoordinated Pb2+/Sn2+, regulate nucleation, promote (100) orientation, passivate ...

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Tailoring Li‐ion Storage and Transport in Two‐Dimensional Conjugated Metal‐Organic Frameworks via Precise Nitrogen Incorporation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two nitrogen‐doped 2D conjugated metal‐organic frameworks (2D c‐MOFs, namely Cu‐Nx‐OHBA, x = 2 or 4) are synthesized, featuring precise nitrogen incorporation via rational ligand design. The Cu‐Nx‐OHBA 2D c‐MOFs are largely tailorable by varying skeletal nitrogen density, with respect to electrical conductivity, Li‐storage capacitance, and Li‐transport

Soft X-ray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy of heavily boron-doped superconducting diamond films

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2006
We have performed soft X-ray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (SXARPES) of microwave plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition diamond films with different B concentrations in order to study the origin of the metallic behavior of superconducting

The band energy structure of RbKSO4 crystals

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2007
The energy band structure of mechanically free and compressed RbKSO4 single crystals is investigated. It is established that the top of the valence band is located at the D point of the Brillouin zone [k = (0.5, 0.5, 0)], the bottom of the conduction ...

Solute manipulation enabled band and defect engineering for thermoelectric enhancements of SnTe

open access: yesInfoMat, 2019
With years of development, SnTe as a homologue of PbTe has shown great potential for thermoelectric applications in p‐type conduction, and the most successful strategy is typified by alloying for maximizing the valence band degeneracy.
