Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

USING ECONOMIC VALUE ADDED (EVA) TO EXAMINE FARM BUSINESSES [PDF]
The four profitability measures recommended by the Farm Financial Standards Task Force have limitations for examining wealth creation. Non-farm corporations, by contrast, have started to use Economic Value Added (EVA) to measure wealth creation.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

PATRIMONIAL RESOURCES’ MANAGEMENT AND EFFECTS ON THE ECONOMIC VALUE ADDED [PDF]
. The core elements of one firm’s existence as the patrimonial situation andperformance, are related in a great measure by the business strategy adopted, the economicenvironment in which it is operating and the way of resources’ management.

Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

International Trade Effects of Value Added Taxation [PDF]
The actual value added tax systems used in many countries differ significantly from the completely general VAT that has been the focus of most economic analyses. In practice, VAT systems exempt broad classes of consumer goods and services.

Enhanced enzyme stability at the interphase of water-oil for continuous-flow olefin epoxidation
The practical applications of enzymes often require their immobilization for multiple recycling or long-term running. However, practically efficient enzyme immobilization methods are lacking.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...
