Small business, big footprint: the digital carbon footprint dilemma in small and medium-sized enterprises

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Systems and Project Management
A major contributor to climate change is the emissions from Information and Communication Technology (ICT) devices and digitalisation. Energy use, heat production, and the operation of assets all contribute to the production of harmful emissions ...

An Investigation into Value Co-creation in Service Supply Chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In service supply chains, customers select a service provider with whom value would be maximized through the interaction between the service provider and the customer.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Value Capture In Hierarchically Organized Value Chains [PDF]

open access: yesAcademy of Management Proceedings, 2015
AbstractWe study how the structure of negotiations in a value chain affects the distribution of value among its members. To this end, we generalize the Shapley value and the core to hierarchical bargaining situations. While the core yields no concrete predictions, the Shapley value analysis suggests that positions most conducive to value capture are ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Technological Innovation and the Future of Energy Value Chains

open access: yes, 2022
The transition from energy systems dominated by fossil fuels1 to ones based on renewable electricity and carbon-free molecules will significantly impact existing value chains2 and forge new pathways and transformation steps from production to consumption.

The strategic role of Indonesia in Global Value Chains (GVC) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This study looks at the participation of Indonesia in Global Value Chains (GVC) and the role it plays in fragmented structures. Through an international input-output database and by breaking up Gross Exports (GE) into different components of Value Added (

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
