Local Fractional Laplace Variational Iteration Method for Solving Linear Partial Differential Equations with Local Fractional Derivative

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2014
The local fractional Laplace variational iteration method was applied to solve the linear local fractional partial differential equations. The local fractional Laplace variational iteration method is coupled by the local fractional variational iteration ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Symbolic computation of variational symmetries in optimal control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We use a computer algebra system to compute, in an efficient way, optimal control variational symmetries up to a gauge term. The symmetries are then used to obtain families of Noether's first integrals, possibly in the presence of nonconservative ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Approximate Solutions for Nonlinear Initial Value Problems Using the Modified Variational Iteration Method

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
We have used the modified variational iteration method (MVIM) to find the approximate solutions for some nonlinear initial value problems in the mathematical physics, via the Burgers-Fisher equation, the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation, the coupled ...

A variational approach to the Navier–Stokes equations

open access: yesBulletin des Sciences Mathématiques, 2012
We propose a time discretization of the Navier-Stokes equations inspired by the theory of gradient flows. This discretization produces Leray/Hopf solutions in any dimension and suitable solutions in dimension 3. We also show that in dimension 3 and for initial datum in H1, the scheme converges to strong solutions in some interval [0, T ) and, if the ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
