Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Variationally-based hybrid boundary element methods
The hybrid stress boundary element method (HSBEM) was introduced in 1987 on the basis of the Hellinger-Reissner potential, as a generalization of Pian's hybrid finite element method.

Geometric Discretization of Lagrangian Mechanics and Field Theories [PDF]
This thesis presents a unified framework for geometric discretization of highly oscillatory mechanics and classical field theories, based on Lagrangian variational principles and discrete differential forms. For highly oscillatory problems in mechanics,

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Geometry of variational methods: dynamics of closed quantum systems
We present a systematic geometric framework to study closed quantum systems based on suitably chosen variational families. For the purpose of (A) real time evolution, (B) excitation spectra, (C) spectral functions and (D) imaginary time evolution, we ...

Fractional variational problems depending on indefinite integrals
We obtain necessary optimality conditions for variational problems with a Lagrangian depending on a Caputo fractional derivative, a fractional and an indefinite integral.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Self-Adaptive Implicit Methods for Monotone Variant Variational Inequalities
The efficiency of the implicit method proposed by He (1999) depends on the parameter heavily; while it varies for individual problem, that is, different problem has different "suitable" parameter, which is difficult to find.
