Validation of the Baveno Endoscopy Avoidance Criteria in Japanese Patients With Chronic Liver Disease: A Real‐World Cohort Study

Many patients with chronic liver disease can safely avoid unnecessary screening endoscopy using the Baveno VII criteria. We developed a simple three‐factor score to identify patients at high risk of serious esophageal varices. Using both approaches together may improve the efficiency and safety of endoscopic screening.
