Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

On varietal capability of Infinite direct products of groups [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Group Theory, 2012
Recently, the authors gave some conditions under which a direct product of finitely many groups is V-capable if and only if each of its factors is V-capable for some varieties V.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

The Resistance of Farmers' rice Varieties to Rice Yellow Mottle Virus (RYMV) at Badeggi, Nigeria [PDF]

open access: yesTropicultura, 2005
Forty-eight farmers' rice varieties and 12 improved and released varieties were screened in the screenhouse at the National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI) Badeggi, Nigeria by mechanical sap inoculation for their resistance to Rice Yellow Mottle Virus (

Potato Groups and Varieties

open access: yes, 1923
There are a large number of potato groups in the classification of this crop. These groups are different from varieties of potatoes. Each group includes several varieties. Altogether there are about a dozen groups but we will list hare only the important

On varieties in which soluble groups are torsion-by-nilpotent

open access: yes, 2005
We characterize the varieties in which all soluble groups are torsion-by-nilpotent as well as the varieties in which all soluble groups are locally finite-by ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Unipotent variety in the group compactification

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2006
The unipotent variety of a reductive algebraic group $G$ plays an important role in the representation theory. In this paper, we will consider the closure $\bar{\Cal U}$ of the unipotent variety in the De Concini-Procesi compactification $\bar{G}$ of a connected simple algebraic group $G$. We will prove that $\bar{\Cal U}-\Cal U$ is a union of some $G$-

Abstract homomorphisms of algebraic groups and applications

open access: yes, 2020
I will discuss several results on abstract homomorphisms between the groups of rational points of algebraic groups. The main focus will be on a conjecture of Borel and Tits formulated in their landmark 1973 paper.
