. Cardiac output and regional blood flows to myocardium, gut, uterus and kidney were determined in anaesthetised female rats by a single injection of 86RbCl. The haemodynamic responses were measured at various time intervals up to 2 h after single I.

When injected intravenously into rats anesthetized by ethanol, lysine vaso-pressin causes an antidiuresis that is as intense as that caused by arginine vaso-pressin. Its duration is, however, less. Accurate quantitative comparison of the two vasopressins

Chemical requirements of vasopressins for barrel rotation convulsions and reversal by oxytocin
Journal of Neuroscience Research, 1980When vasopressin is administred into the lateral ventricles of rats it produces severe convulsive activity characterized by a rapid barrel rotation.

Vasopressin is a hormone that is essential for both osmotic and cardiovascular homeostasis. A deficiency of vasopressin exists in some shock states and replacement of physiological levels of vasopressin can restore vascular tone. Vasopressin is therefore emerging as a rational therapy for vasodilatory shock.

Structure--activity relations of the fibrinolytic response to vasopressins in man.
Clinical science and molecular medicine, 19781. The systemic plasminogen activator response has been examined after intravenous infusion of the following peptides related to neurohypophyseal hormones in approximately equimolar dosages into informed, consenting human volunteer subjects: (a) the ...

Synthetic analogs of oxytocin and the vasopressins.
Annual Review of Pharmacology, 1973Vincent du Vigneaud and his associates synthesized oxytocin and the vaso pressins almost twenty years ago. These were the first polypeptide hormones prepared by total synthesis.

In an attempt to determine some of the structural features in position 1 that account for antivasopressor activity, eight new 1-(beta, beta-dialkyl-substituted) analogues of 1-(3-mercaptopropanoic acid)-8-arginine-vasopressin and 1-(3-mercaptopropanoic ...

Comparison of Pharmacological Effects of Lysine and Arginine Vasopressins.∗
Proceedings of the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine. Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1956Summary 1. Ihe pharmacological effects of lysine and arginine vasopressins are the same with respect to their relative vasopressor, milk-ejecting and avian depressor potencies. 2.

Effect of exogenous vasopressin on vasopressin release
American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism, 1984To characterize the influence of extracellular volume status on vasopressin pharmacokinetics, eleven young (aged 19-31 yr) and four old (aged 62-80 yr) subjects received bolus injections of 1 mU/kg Pitressin or synthetic arginine vasopressin following 6 days of sodium depletion (10 meq Na/day) or sodium loading (250 meq Na/day).
