Cardiac remodelling in the era of the recommended four pillars heart failure medical therapy
Abstract Cardiac remodelling is a key determinant of worse cardiovascular outcome in patients with heart failure (HF) and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). It affects both the left ventricle (LV) structure and function as well as the left atrium (LA) and the right ventricle (RV).

The relevance of depression-associated genes in neuronal in vitro systems. [PDF]

Is There Escape from Renal Actions of Vasopressin in Rats with a Hyponatremia for Greater than 48 Hours? [PDF]
Escape from the renal actions of vasopressin is said to occur in rats with chronic hyponatremia. Our objective was to provide specific evidence to test this hypothesis. Hence the osmolality in the excised renal papilla and in simultaneously voided urine (

Pathophysiologic mechanisms of heart failure (HF) (i.e. renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system [RAAS], congestion, and inflammation), together with patient‐related factors such as diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease (CKD), contribute to kidney function decline and glomerular or tubular injury.

Gene regulation of vasopressin and vasopressin receptors in cancer
It is proposed that neuropeptide production by tumours is an important part of a special process of oncogenic transformation rather than a pre‐existing condition of progenitor cells; this concept is called Selective Tumour gene Expression of Peptides essential for Survival (STEPS).

This study investigated the prognostic value of residual congestion phenotypes at discharge in acute heart failure. Patients with intravascular residual congestion had better diuretic responses and shorter hospital stays than those with tissue/combined residual congestion, but worse outcomes than decongested patients.
