Vegetal oils as substitute for mineral oils
Proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials (Cat. No.03CH37417), 2004Investigations on food quality vegetal oils have shown favorable dielectric characteristics as insulating material for electrical devices. In order to comply with possible applications, characterizations of different seed oils and chemical derivatives have been carried out.

Detection of Phytonadione in Vegetable Oil
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1982A simple detection test for phytonadione (vitamin K1) in vegetable oil is presented. A saturated sodium ethoxide solution was used to saponify vegetable oil and react with the freed phytonadione to form a blue compound. The specificity and mechanism of the colored compound formation is discussed.

Journal of Allergy, 1949Abstract As a result of this hearing it was brought out: 1.1. That allergic sensitivity to the water-soluble protein fractions of various seeds from which edible vegetable oils are obtained is fairly frequent and severe, especially with reference to cottonseed.
