Targeting Senescence with Apigenin Improves Chemotherapeutic Efficacy and Ameliorates Age‐Related Conditions in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a plant‐derived flavonoid, apigenin directly targets PRDX6 to inhibit its PLA2 activity, blocking HSPA8 activation and disturbing its interactions with ATM and p38MAPK in senescent cells. By dampening wide spectrum expression of the SASP, apigenin prevents loss of tissue homeostasis, improves organ function, and alleviates multiple age‐related ...

Quantitative Trait Locus Mapping and Identification of Candidate Genes Controlling Bolting in Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Spinach is a typical light-sensitive plant. Long days can induce early bolting, thereby influencing the regional adaptation, quality, and vegetative yield of spinach.

Antagonist Targeting the Species‐Specific Fatty Acid Dehydrogenase/Isomerase FabX for Anti‐H. pylori Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the atypical dehydrogenase/isomerase FabX in Type‐II fatty acid biosynthesis pathway is essential for H. pylori infection by retaining unsaturated fatty acid synthesis and producing superoxide (ROS). A small molecule FBX‐1991 that specifically targets FabX to inhibit H.

Parabolic dunes in north-eastern Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesGeomorphology 102, 460-471 (2008), 2007
In this work we present measurements of vegetation cover over parabolic dunes with different degree of activation along the north-eastern Brazilian coast. We are able to extend the local values of the vegetation cover density to the whole dune by correlating measurements with the gray-scale levels of a high resolution satellite image of the dune field.

Diallyl Trisulfide From Garlic Regulates RAB18 Phase Separation to Inhibit Lipophagy and Induce Cuproptosis in Hepatic Stellate Cells for Antifibrotic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Diallyl trisulfides (DATs) selectively induce cuproptosis in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) by targeting Ras‐related protein Rab‐18 (RAB18) and regulating lipophagy. DATs promote RAB18 phase separation, enhance mitochondrial‐associated membrane structures (MAMs) formation, and increase succinylation of dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (DLD) at K320.

Transcriptome profiling of Cucumis metuliferus infected by Meloidogyne incognita provides new insights into putative defense regulatory network in Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Root-knot nematodes (RKN) represent extensive challenges to Cucurbitaceae crops. However, Cucumis metuliferus (Cm) is known to be resistant to Meloidogyne incognita (Mi) infections.

Genome-wide analysis of microRNA targeting impacted by SNPs in cucumber genome

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2017
Background microRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous small RNAs that play important regulatory functions in plant development. Genetic variations in miRNAs sequences or their target-binding sites (microRNA-target interaction sites) can alter miRNA targets in ...

Mechanisms of Baicalin Alleviates Intestinal Inflammation: Role of M1 Macrophage Polarization and Lactobacillus amylovorus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Baicalin alleviates E. coli‐induced intestinal inflammation through dual mechanisms: direct inhibition of the TLR4/IRF/STAT signaling pathway to modulate macrophage polarization and antigen presentation, thereby regulating Th17/Treg cell differentiation; and microbiota‐mediated indirect effects via increasing Lactobacillus amylovorus abundance and ...
