miR-15a-5p suppresses peritoneal fibrosis induced by peritoneal dialysis via targeting VEGF in rats

open access: yesRenal Failure, 2020
Aim When peritoneal fibrosis (PF) causes ultrafiltration failure in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, PD has to be discontinued. Currently, there is no effective way to relieve PF.

VEGF₁₂₁b and VEGF₁₆₅b are weakly angiogenic isoforms of VEGF-A.

open access: yesMolecular cancer, 2010
Different isoforms of VEGF-A (mainly VEGF₁₂₁, VEGF₁₆₅ and VEGF189) have been shown to display particular angiogenic properties in the generation of a functional tumor vasculature. Recently, a novel class of VEGF-A isoforms, designated as VEGF(xxx)b, generated through alternative splicing, have been described.

Umbelliprenin Inhibited Angiogenesis and Metastasis of MDA-MB-231 Cell Line through Downregulation of CoCl2 / EGFMediated PI3K / AKT / ERK Signaling [PDF]

open access: yesMiddle East Journal of Cancer, 2022
Background: Breast cancer is known to be one of the most prevalent malignancies in women worldwide. Umbelliprenin (UMB) is a naturally-occurring component derived from plant species, which has shown anticancer properties.

VEGF-Independent Angiogenic Factors: Beyond VEGF/VEGFR2 Signaling [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Research, 2022
Tumors induce angiogenesis to acquire oxygen and nutrition from their adjacent microenvironment. Tumor angiogenesis has been believed to be induced primarily by the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) from various tumors.

NF-κB signaling and crosstalk during carcinogenesis

open access: yes4 open, 2019
Transcription factors (TFs) are proteins that control the transcription of genetic information from DNA to mRNA by binding to specific DNA sequences either on their own or with other proteins as a complex.

Effect of Valeriana Sysimberifolia Extract on VEGF Expression in A549 Cell Line

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ̒Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Bābul, 2020
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Today, the use of medicinal plants in the treatment of cancer is more important due to its fewer side effects. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is one of the most important factors in stimulating angiogenesis and ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
