Expression and prognostic significance of VEGFR-2 in breast cancer
Pathology Research and Practice, 2015Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in the world. Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) was not only found to play a key role in the development of tumor angiogenesis, but has also been located in tumor cells of a variety of tumors.

Arylphthalazines as potent, and orally bioavailable inhibitors of VEGFR-2
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2009A series of arylphthalazine derivatives were synthesized and evaluated as antagonists of VEGF receptor II (VEGFR-2). IM-094482 57, which was prepared in two steps from commercially available starting materials, was found to be a potent inhibitor of VEGFR-2 in enzymatic, cellular and mitogenic assays (comparable activity to ZD-6474).

Novel quinoxaline-based VEGFR-2 inhibitors to halt angiogenesis
Bioorganic Chemistry, 2023Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 is a dynamic target for therapeutic intervention in various types of cancer. This study was aimed at exploring the VEGFR-2 inhibitory activity of a novel library of quinoxalin-2-one derivatives such as 3-furoquinoxaline carboxamides, 3-pyrazolylquinoxalines, and 3-pyridopyrimidyl-quinoxalines.

Novel VEGFR‐2 inhibitors with an N‐acylhydrazone scaffold
Archiv der Pharmazie, 2020AbstractVascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR‐2) is a tyrosine kinase that mediates a large number of cell responses associated with angiogenesis. The control of the angiogenic pathway in tumorigenesis by the inhibition of VEGFR‐2 is considered a promising therapeutic strategy for the prevention and control of solid tumor growth. In this

A role for protein ubiquitination in VEGFR-2 signalling and angiogenesis
Biochemical Society Transactions, 2009Regulation of angiogenesis is often viewed as a balance between pro-angiogenic and anti-angiogenic factors, and when the balance shifts in favour of angiogenesis stimulators, an angiogenic switch turns on the normally inactive endothelial cells to grow new blood vessels.

CAPE suppresses VEGFR-2 activation, and tumor neovascularization and growth
Journal of Molecular Medicine, 2012The growth and metastasis of human solid tumors and the development of conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory psoriasis, and others are regulated by the balance between angiogenic stimulators and inhibitors released in the angiogenic-pathological microenvironment.

In vivo inhibition of tumor angiogenesis by a soluble VEGFR-2 fragment
Experimental and Molecular Pathology, 2004The interaction of vessel endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF) and its receptors (flt-1, FLK-1/KDR) regulates tumor angiogenesis. Therefore, blocking the binding of VEGF and the corresponding receptor has become critical for antitumor angiogenesis biological therapy.

Expression of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 in Degenerative Achilles Tendons
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 2004Evidence suggests neovascularization is involved in the etiology of spontaneous Achilles tendon rupture. Therefore we investigated expression of the receptors of one of the most important angiogenic factors, the vascular endothelial growth factor in normal and pathologic human Achilles tendons by immunohistochemical and molecular biology methods. We demonstrate the increased protein expression of VEGF and VEGFR-2 in colonic tissue of IL-10 knockout mice (IL-10^???/??? mice) with spontaneously developed ulcerative colitis. It is associated with increased levels and the phosphorylation of Src kinase. We found no difference in levels of Akt, while levels of phosphorylation were higher in IL-10^???/
