A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Effects of an assisted jump training stimulus on explosive performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Complex training protocols are an effective means to improve explosive performance. However, due to many variations in resistance and plyometric training the effectiveness of different combinations are unknown.

Sharpening the Coach’s Eye: An Observational Study Investigating the Trainability of An Eye-Tracking Strategy for Perceiving Barbell Velocity Loss in Resistance Training

open access: yesSports Medicine - Open
Background Resistance training (RT) coaches can implement velocity-based training (VBT) to prescribe set volume by terminating sets at a target velocity loss (VL) threshold.

The Utility of Angular Velocity During Back Squat to Predict 1RM and Load–Velocity Profiling

open access: yesSensors
Linear velocity is commonly used to estimate 1-repetition maximum (1RM) from a load–velocity profile (LVP), as well as prescribe training intensity. However, no study has assessed angular velocity, which may be more representative of joint motion.

Morphology, Transport, and Dynamics of Protein Adsorption in Open‐Cell Metal Foam

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stainless steel (SS) open‐cell foams are shown to adsorb more protein per unit area than previously reported 316L SS and chromium oxide surfaces under static and flow conditions. An integrated approach combining 3D pore imaging, flow simulation, and protein adsorption experiments characterizes the foam’s performance.

The effects of velocity-based vs. percentage-based resistance training on sports performance in trainedindividuals: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesBMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation
Background This meta-analysis compared the effects of velocity-based training (VBT) and traditional percentage-based training (PBT) on athletic performance, specifically in muscle strength, jump performance, sprint performance, and change-of-direction ...
