Targeting eEF1A1 with baicalein disrupts the eEF1A1‐Prdx4 interaction to prevent RNF14‐mediated ubiquitination and degradation of Prdx4. This stabilizes Prdx4 to suppress NF‐κB, thereby alleviating sepsis‐induced acute lung injury. ABSTRACT Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome triggered by an uncontrolled host response to infection ...

Monitoring and assessment for obstructive sleep apnea
This review systematically classifies Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) monitoring indicators into three categories: physical, biochemical, and electrophysiological indicators, and lists several methods for each category. Abstract Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common chronic sleep‐disordered breathing disease characterized by recurrent upper airway ...

OBJECTIVE: The common denominator in most forms of ventilator-induced lung injury is an intense inflammatory response mediated by neutrophils. PET with [F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose can be used to image cellular metabolism, which, during lung inflammatory ...

Withania somnifera seed extract and powder improved metabolic parameters in rats, particularly at higher extract doses, without evident hepatic, renal, hematological, or histopathological toxicity. Molecular docking further predicted strong DPP‐4 inhibitory potential of withanone, supporting the antidiabetic potential of W. somnifera seeds.

Ventilator-induced lung injury
To the Editor: Slutsky and Ranieri (Nov. 28 issue)(1) note that ventilator-induced lung injury may be minimized by means of lung-protective mechanical ventilation or by avoiding it altogether with the use of extracorporeal life-support techniques(2) such

Strain threshold for ventilator-induced lung injury
Introduction Unphysiological lung strain (tidal volume/functional residual capacity, TV/FRC) may cause ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI) [1]. Whether VILI develops proportionally to the applied strain or only above a critical threshold remains ...

Bidirectional pressure: a mini review of ventilator-lung-kidney interactions
Acute kidney injury and respiratory failure that requires mechanical ventilation are both common complications of critical illnesses. Failure of either of these organ systems also increases the risk of failure to the other.

Monocyte inflammation and adaptive immune dysfunction in severe Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia
Severe Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia combines intense inflammation with failure to control infection, yet the cellular basis is unclear. Using a severity‐focused single‐cell atlas of 708,894 peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 100 individuals, complemented by plasma protein measurements and flow cytometry, we show that disease severity redirects ...

Compare Serum VCAM‐1, NSE, Procalcitonin in Predict Sepsis Induced Encephalopathy in Septic Patients
Serum VCAM‐1 is associated with septic encephalopathy in the first 7 days of sepsis. NSE and procalcitonin were not associated with septic encephalopathy. ABSTRACT Background Sepsis‐associated encephalopathy (SAE) is a common complication of severe sepsis. Increased concentration of Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (VCAM‐1) is associated with SAE in a
