Verbal Memory Elicited by Ambient Odor
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1992This study examined whether an ambient odor can act as a contextual cue for retrieval of verbal stimuli. Subjects ( N = 47) learned a list of 24 words while exposed to one of two odors (either jasmine incense or Lauren perfume) and subsequently relearned the list with either the same or the alternative odor present.

Visuospatial and verbal memory in mental arithmetic
Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 2017Working memory allows complex information to be remembered and manipulated over short periods of time. Correlations between working memory and mathematics achievement have been shown across the lifespan. However, only a few studies have examined the potentially distinct contributions of domain-specific visuospatial and verbal working memory resources ...

Citicoline Improves Verbal Memory in Aging
Archives of Neurology, 1996To test the verbal memory of older volunteers given citicoline.A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group design was employed in the initial study. Verbal memory function in mild aphasia
Neurology, 1996Verbal material may be processed by semantic and phonologic systems. Damage to these language systems may also impair memory. We classified 16 mildly aphasic patients according to phonologic and lexicosemantic abilities, tested them on a variety of short- and long-term memory measures, and correlated behavioral deficits with lesion location.

Auditory Verbal Learning and Verbal Memory in a Case of Pathological Working Memory Deficit
2016We present a patient with selective impairment of verbal working memory ('phonological short-term memory syndrome'). In order to assess verbal learning and verbal retention, we performed a German test, called Verbaler Lern- Und Merkfähigkeitstest (Verbal Learning and Memory Retention Test).
