Slot and Vertical Face Grinding of Aerospace Components

Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 1996
Workpiece profile accuracy, wheel wear, and thermal damage were investigated for the grinding of slots and vertical faces on MAR-M-247, Inconel 713C, and M-2 tool steel using both alumina and cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheels. It was found when grinding with alumina wheels that the wheel corner and first 2.5 mm of the grinding wheel sidewall ...

Finish grinding with vertical roller mills-operating data

IEEE-IAS/PCS 2002 Cement Industry Technical Conference. Conference Record (Cat. No.02CH37282), 2003
Vertical roller mills offer significant potential for savings when used for finish grinding. Two installations in Peru and the Dominican Republic are being examined with specific data on cement production, product fineness, specific power consumption and concrete strength. The vertical mill at Cementos Pacasmayo, SA in Peru was commissioned in December

Vertical-Spindle Surface Grinding

1986
Vertical-spindle surface grinding is often thought of as exclusively a roughing operation. While the process is a common first operation on a casting, forging, or weldment, it is also used for fine finishing applications that demand close control of flatness and surface finish.

Productivity increase of the vertical roller mill for cement grinding

1997 IEEE/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference. XXXIX Conference Record (Cat. No.97CH36076), 2002
The specific power consumption, product quality and other performance of the "OK" and "CK" vertical roller mills for cement grinding are briefly stated. Hence, the enhancement in increasing the productivity of the vertical roller mill at Chichibu Onoda Cement Corporation (COCC) is introduced.

Motion specifics of grinding bodies in vertical planetary mills

Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2009
A mathematical model of the motion of grinding bodies in a milling drum, a distinguishing characteristic of which is the consideration of two inertial forces associated with the drum’s rotation and its displacement using a carrier along a circular path, is developed.

Analysis of Horizontal and Vertical Grinding Technologies

Solid State Phenomena
The grinding technologies are widely used for finishing operations of various types of parts to provide better surface roughness and accuracy for the selected surfaces. Those technologies are expensive and take a lot of time to execute them consequently they are used when it is reasoned.

Petroleum coke grinding with the vertical airswept pendulum mill

IEEE-IAS/PCA 2001 Cement Industry Technical Conference. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37150), 2002
The vertical pendulum mill has been used in the nonmetallic mineral industry for over one hundred years to grind natural minerals such as limestone, gypsum, barite and bentonite. Petroleum coke is ideally suited to be ground in this type of grinding mill.

Component wear in vertical spindle mills grinding coal

International Journal of Mineral Processing, 1996
Abstract This paper reports on the contribution of a number of material coal properties and machine operating parameters to the wear of vertical spindle mill components. This assists in the evaluation of mills and coals for particular duties and enables prediction of the likely changes in maintenance regime if these variables are changed.

Numerical analysis of grinding power consumption of a vertical planetary mill

Journal of China University of Mining and Technology, 2008
Abstract Planetary wheel rolling on a coal-bed was simplified as rigid wheel rolling on the coal-bed with a rigid base when a Vertical planetary mill (VPM) is running. Based on our analysis, we conclude that the Bekker formulation for computing rolling resistance is not applicable to calculate directly the rolling resistance of the wheel.
