Price and Non-Price Restraints When Retailers are Vertically Differentiated [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper considers vertical restraints in the context of an intrabrand competition model in which a single manufacturer deals with two vertically differentiated retailers. We establish two main results.

Dual‐Targeting Biomimetic Nanozymes Loaded Microneedle Patch Promotes Scarless Wound Healing Through Anti‐Inflammatory and Anti‐Fibrotic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a dual‐targeting biomimetic nanozyme hybrid system (Cu‐CeO2@ABs‐FTP) and integrated it with HAMA hydrogel to fabricate a microneedle patch (CAF@MN). The patch promotes fibroblast‐mediated wound repair, targets macrophages to induce M2 polarization, and targets myofibroblasts to exert anti‐fibrotic effects, thereby enabling rapid ...

Vertical integration and exclusive vertical restraints in health-care markets [PDF]

open access: yes
We examine vertical integration and exclusive vertical restraints in health-care markets where insurers and hospitals bilaterally bargain over contracts.

ROS‐Responsive Eye Drop for Controlled Release of 20‐Deoxyingenol Improves Diabetic Corneal Healing by Activating Macrophage Autophagy and Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of ROS‐responsive TSPBA‐PVA microspheres loaded with 20‐deoxyingenol (TP/20‐DOI) for diabetic corneal wound healing: (a) fabrication and ROS‐triggered release; (b) autophagy activation and metabolic reprogramming in macrophages; (c) suppression of macrophage‐derived CXCL3/CXCL5, attenuation of neutrophil infiltration, and ...

EU Competition Policy, Vertical Restraints, and Innovation: An Analysis from an Evolutionary Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes
The EU competition policy in regard to vertical restraints is mainly based upon neoclassical efficiency-oriented reasonings, leading to a neglect of the innovation dimension.

Geometry‐Regulated Electrode‐Wide Nucleation Patterns in Aqueous Zinc Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐ablated 3D hole patterning enables geometry‐driven control of Zn deposition in aqueous batteries. The hole opening ratio (HOR) governs electrode‐wide nucleation patterns by regulating the spatial distribution of nucleation sites and the evolution of early‐stage Zn deposits.

An Economic Theory of Vertical Restraints

open access: yesThe RAND Journal of Economics, 1984
Vertical restraints imposed by manufacturers on the prices, locations, and sales of retail firms represent a puzzling departure from the simple price-mediated exchange of conventional markets. In this article we analyze the theoretical basis for these restraints. In a setting where retailers inform consumers and are imperfectly competitive, and where a

Advances in Se Wide‐Bandgap Photovoltaics and TexSe1‐x SWIR Photodiodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this review, fundamental properties and current challenges in Se photovoltaics (PVs) for tandem and indoor PVs and TexSe1‐x alloys for short wave infrared photodiodes are discussed. A case is made for the practicality of elemental chalcogenide optoelectronics, and a pathway toward resolving the key challenges in these respective technologies is ...

Vertical Restraints after Monsanto [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The decision in Monsanto Co. v. Spray-Rite Service Corp. represents the Supreme Court\u27s latest effort to articulate the standards governing vertical restraints of trade under the United States anti-trust law.

A Photothermally Amplified Enzyme–Nitric Oxide Co‐Regulatory System Reprograms Pathological ECM–Fibroblast Crosstalk to Alleviate Hypertrophic Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An enzyme–nitric oxide (NO) co‐regulatory strategy reprograms pathological extracellular matrix (ECM)–fibroblast crosstalk in hypertrophic scars. Enzymatic degradation of pre‐existing ECM relieves aberrant mechanical cues, while NO‐mediated fibroblast phenotypic modulation restrains excessive collagen synthesis.
